The
DEZMAC Roadshow has been under the sole control of Dominic Hill
since 1999. However, Dominic's DJing goes all the way back to
1982, and has a variety that is unique amongst his peers.
It's 1982 - you have a bad hairstyle, and wear
too much make-up. The girls aren't much better. You
would have found me at Skindles in Maidenhead, and also Henrys in
Burnham Beeches. Perhaps not the classiest joints in the
world, but good grief, did I have a laugh.
By 1984, my duel worlds of 'day job' and 'night
time/weekend party animal' was taking its toll, and I had to make a
choice - so I went mobile with a friend. For the next 8 years,
we pretty much did 30 parties a year, split between weddings,
special birthdays and corporate events.
My friend moved away, and I ventured into the
world of Radio. I spent three years trying to break into real
radio stations, in between getting married and becoming a father.
I 'retired' in 1996 following the birth of my
first daughter, and did just a few gigs here and there.
In 1999, I was lucky enough to have some spare
cash, two children, and an understanding wife who suggested I buy
new equipment and start again. (Phew!) So I did.
From 1999 onwards I did private parties, weddings
and lots of corporate work. Combining forces with several
local DJ's allowed us to offer a joined up service to cater for most
parties.
In 2001 I began working in nightclubs again -
first of all at Boulters Lock in Maidenhead and then onto Smokey
Joe's Roadhouse for 2003 and 2004.
Since mid-2004 I have pretty much split myself
evenly between private parties and night clubs. It's just a laugh!
